There is no reason to waste our time getting our hopes up for someone who is highly unlikely.

That is so, but this quote from the Sports by Fletch link gives pause:
quote:
Drew is set to make his decision this Friday and one seeming favorite may already be out of the running. The Georgia Bulldogs would figure to lead for Drew’s services, especially since the recent commitments of Xzavier Ward (committed Monday afternoon), Damian Swann, Jay Rome and Malcolm Mitchell, but Drew admitted that Georgia had its drawbacks.
“They’ve gone to a 3-4 defense and that’s been weighing on me,” Drew revealed. “I’m not too fond of that idea (of playing standing up and not with a hand on the ground).”
Drew also broke the news that Georgia is looking at him as an outside linebacker and not a defensive end, his current position and his projected position at the next level. “I believe I play better in a 4-3, with my hand in the dirt.” That statement could be the final nail in Georgia’s bid to snag the defensive end.
“I have to do what is best for me, academically and football-wise. I’ll look at everything as a whole.”
Fletch's concluding thought is also a source of hope:
quote:
In the end, Drew said he will have to weigh each school’s positives, which factors he considers to be the most important and whether he can see himself there. He gives Georgia the edge in education, Clemson the edge in being the “most peaceful,” LSU the edge in football and Auburn the edge in relationships and coaches. Drew will have to weigh their options quickly as he plans on announcing his selection this Friday. At this point, it could go any way, but you get the feeling that the Georgia Dream Team won’t be adding Drew to its haul.
Also this:
quote:
The LSU Tigers present a unique situation in that Drew’s faith could lead him to become team chaplain, taking over for Drake Nevis
Lots here to spawn hope for the 1 day we must wait to find out...

–Thomas County Central defensive end Ray Drew has a 10 a.m. Friday announcement. He told me last night that he made his decision “about mid-way of last week,” and has informed the school that he picked and the other schools that recruited him about his decision.
So this means he made his tentative decision a week ago. Since then, Brick, Richt, and Bobo have visited, and he turned away Chizik and Sweeney. With Bobo making another tentative visit tomorrow morning before the announcement, there's only two scenarios...
Either he is making sure Drew is solid to UGA walking into the announcement, or he is trying a last minute pitch to lure him away from LSU.
I'd be pretty excited with the latter.

The thing is i don't want to be disappointed tomorrow.
But I would always love a big surprise!

No smoke in him coming to LSU. I would suggest not getting your hopes up. If that was true, something would have leaked by now.

frick if nothing else, I'm halfway excited about the possibility. That's all we can ask for with the initial threat of this class not having any suspense down the stretch. I know I'll be glued to the computer at 10am

it seldom does for the most part every season. Not with the big out of state announcements anyway. I know Sam M. and Ego were cool as shite when they happened though

I've always been under the impression he was staying home and that we didn't have a shot at him. Some of these quotes are making me get my hopes up a little bit. Especially the one talking about his desire to play in a 4-3 and Georgia switching to the 3-4.
