sorry.... didn't say they were cheap. but shoot one before you make any judgements. Very high quality gun, they are the only company to start off with a compact version and work their way up to full size. Makes a difference.

Although not my choice in a CCW, the Walther PPS(Police Pistol Slim) is a well respected weapon for that purpose. It's light, slim (single stack grip), has a striker firing mechanism, and has plenty of firepower w/ 6, 7 or 8 +1 magazines. The mag release lever is unconventional. As to your other question, w/ the right defensive loads, the 9mm has more than adequate stopping power. It's hard to find fault w/ a gun that's adequate for the task and feels right in YOUR hands.
