Kona Grill

I am curious to know what everyone's opinion is about Kona Grill.
I've been to the one in Perkins Rowe twice and they are always out of something. First time I went was right after they opened and they ran out of meat. I wrote it off since they just opened and were busy.
Went last night, at 7pm, ordered a pizza, and was told they ran out of pizza dough. I could understand if it was around 10:30 or so, but 7pm on a Saturday. How does that happen?

I hate the place. I've gone 3 or 4 times and every time is a disaster. I've given them chances but they always disappoint so I'll never be going back there.

I've only been to Kona once, and I thought it was pretty good. What all did they do to disappoint you?

It's pretty good.
Their reverse happy hour is hard to beat.
Go see a late movie with the girl, then pop into Kona after for half price sushi.

never been, but think it is awesome when managers come onto a place like this to try and make the customer happy. next time I'm in perkins rowe I might have to stop by.

can you text me when there's a wolf or a vampire eating at your place? my gf is goo goo over that stuff and wants to bother the crap out of them while they're trying to relax and enjoy their meal.

I've always enjoyed going there for pre-movie happy hour.

Damnit...
I'm guilty of the same thing.
I've been probably close to ten times since they've opened in BR for many varying reasons. My GF likes the pesto pasta they serve there, so I've gone with her a couple of times to make her happy. I went in last Saturday since we were going to a movie in Perkins Rowe and I told her I'm not coming back unless it's not my choice. Too many other options. Service has been good the last few times I can say that.
To be fair I've only ordered the sushi the last two times because of my disappointment with some of the other menu items(Macadamia nut chicken was good, but I don't really order chicken out often - server recommended), and I find it mediocre at best. I guess that's not their specialty and by looking at the menu, I'm not sure what their specialty is. Jack of all trades, master of none, is how I've labeled this place before..
I generally drink bourbon(makers or crown) with water, and at $8.00/glass to get a measured 1.5oz shot isn't my cup of tea in BR. Too many non-chain places aren't breaking out the jigger on every pour and are charging less.

I like the fact that you're trying to make a happy customer, but you're hands are tied on the product you serve and the prices you charge I would imagine.

One time I got a card in the mail for a free meal at Kona. They didn't specify what I could order..and let me get a pricey steak with the card.

yeah, there are a lot of places around there .. but i have really never had a problem there .. if you like meatloaf, they actually have a pretty damn good one there ..

yeah, the place ain't cheap fo sho .. you know the rent in perkins rowe is higher than a camel's pu$$y .. so the overhead is insane ..

you got to admire the effort .. but if you have an unhappy customer that has tried you three or four times, what can you really do outside of apologizing for their disappointment ?

No idea. Just came in the mail to my house
On topic, I enjoy their sushi a good bit. I also love their Oriental Salad. The filet was good when I got it as well.
And they have a Mango Mojito that's off the chain.
