Andre Stringer took only 6 shots for 11 pts and we call that selfish? I always thought selfish play was hogging all the shots, i was at the game stringer passed up plenty of shots i thought he should have taken but instead he passed the ball into the post where green, warren, and white took turns missing point blank layups and flat out not even catching the ball.

we have never seen a kid able to shoot from 35 feet like its a free throw, and i think we all cringe when we see it because everything we have been told about basketball says thats a bad shot so we equate it with selfishness or fooolish shot selection when if u see the shot he's not stuggling to get it there he's not pushing it, its fundamentally perfect, its just a unique talent that he has to be able to shoot from that distance and before this recent slump he was shooting 40 to 37% from 3 which any basketball person will tell you is better than average.

him being able to shoot from that distance should stretch the floor and create inside opportunities but because we have no one on the inside that deserves to be guarded, the defense is able to push up on stringer's shot because they have no fear of anyone else which makes its hard for our perimeter players.

Now by no means is stringer flawless but shot selection or selfishness is not one of them, he is a liability on defense(most freshman are)and at this point his left hand and overall ball handling could really stand to approve.

malcolm, storm and green left about 10 points off the board in the first half missing bunnies at the rim. just need some kind of presence down there. hopefully storm can recover and have some games similar to last season, even if he fouls we can at least rely on green somewhat now unlike last season. most of green's damage has been done facing the basket.

I doubt people notice that teams having to guard him as soon as he crosses the half court line. That alone should create chances for us on offense.

It doesn't, but it should.

only reason it doesn't is because our big men are terrible and cannot catch simple passes or make simple layups

You think people call Stringer selfish based on this 1 game? It was about the games before this one obviously. He had a good game, hopefully he can do that more consistently.
