A buddy of mine played 9 holes with Muncie and his father this morning. They were talking LSU football and during the conversation the issue of fake/trick plays came up. Muncie said that the coaching staff didn't call the fakes, it was Jasper who would make those calls the majority of the time, even the toss over the shoulder earlier this year. Muncie said that Jasper was the best all-around athletes on the team. He was definitely clutch.

Jasper is definitely an athlete. He was an all-state soccer player in high school

I thought I heard they called the fake fg from the sideline just after the timeout at Florida?

I doubt seriously in that situation jasper was given the freedom to call a fake FG against UF

No way Jasper called the fake against Florida. I can see the one against Alabama being his call, but not the one against Florida.

It's been said before by many people the punt fakes are audibles based on what Jasper reads on the punt coverage.

Definitely not the FG. It was well publicized in the media and video showed him going back to the coach that told him.

Muncie is still in one piece after that hit he took? That was one of the hardest hits I saw this year

The fake FG play was called "Tiger" and it was not Jasper's call. He was told of the play call after the timeout and then let Helton know of the play call as he walked back to the huddle.

The fake punts may have been Jasper's call, especially the Alabama fake.

Jasper could take off on punts if the defense was in a certain formation. The over the shoulder flip was a coaches call.

I remember that one fake punt.. everyone didn't bother to check the punter and ran to block downfield..

that was against mcneese and they had been doing that the entire game up to that point. i remember telling my buddy that jasper ought to just run because no one is rushing the punter and then he took off the very next punt. jasper is actually pretty damn fast.

ha, yeah not that fast but as a guy who was first team all-state in soccer his junior and senior year in 5A competition and also a quarterback and wide receiver in high school, he's not just your run-of-the-mill kicker who can do only that. he's definitely an all around athlete that knows how to run

That's pretty incredible.

However he doesn't have shite on all the OTers who run a 4.2 and bang perfect 10's.
