Bonnet Carre / Des Allemands area fishing?

somewhat new to st. charles parish, and was hoping to get some fishing area recommendations. more specifically, around the bonnet carre and/or des allemands areas. we use a small bass boat and grew up fresh water fishing... and not really sure what's around.
as far as the bonnet carre, any recommendations regarding boat launches and where to go (i.e., norco launch and head towards lake pontchartrain)? also, what would you be most likely to catch (bass? redfish??)
same for des allemands area... any boat launch recommendations? do most people head towards lake salvadore or lac des allemands... or just fish the waterways before the larger lakes? what type of fish to go after?
again, new to the area and just hoping to get some recommendations from the locals here. any input would be much appreciated (feel free to recommend any other local fishing areas)

You're surrounded by great fishing.
I know we used to fish lac des allamends a little bit and the canals between des allamends and lake salvador
I'm not in to freshwater fishing much but I know that's some good area
Also Lafourche parish: lake boeuff, lake fields, etc..

All I've ever done was bass in the cypress trees on the east side of the lake
And there's also a lot of catfish at the railroad and old hwy 90 bridges towards lac des allamends

Best place to launch would probably be the Valero station on 90 in Des Allamends

Depending on what size boat you are fishing from. There are trout and reds on the far side of Lake Salvador. Hell we caught reds on the point when we had our camp on temple bay 1997-2003. Don't know how much fresh water davis pond has been able to dump in there since then though.

bayou, preciate the info. how long of a trip to temple bay from launch... think a 17' bass boat would do ok?

Probably about a 30 minute run in a bass boat. Just have to watch Lake Salvador. It can be a rough bitch.

i can imagine... one of the reasons bonnet carre/des allemands areas caught our attention was what loooks to be a fair amount of smaller canals and bayous to fish before you hit the larger lake areas. obviously this would be a good fallback for a smaller boat on a windy day. thanks again

anyone know about the dufrene or simoneaux ponds outside des allemands... can you fish or are those private? was noticing on google earth they looked a bit more 'developed' and wasn't sure if they were public use.

Simonaux ponds are private. We used to go catch catfish there a long time ago with jug lines and an airboat. We'd catch many 30+ pounders
