Today's press conference with Les Miles was the best one I believe he's done here to express his passion and honesty about coming to LSU. He spoke from his heart and put his feelings out for everyone to see. For those who have not had an opportunity to see or hear today's press conference, here are a few of his best comments:

Could you have said, six years ago, that this would be your last coaching job?
Six years ago when I got here, my eyes were wide. I didn’t understand what I was about to run into. I was told. But you know, it’s kind of like the first time you ride a plane. You know they tell you this is what it’s gonna feel like. And your eyes get big and however old I was, it was the first experience. Well I want you to know I went through a couple plane rides here: Taking the field in Tiger Stadium. The people that are so passionate. That was a word that was descriptive to me of what I was gonna feel. It is now a feeling that I have about our fan base - A wild passionate group of people. So, six years ago, I didn’t know what I was getting into. Now, six years later, I really have enjoyed that ride. And I want it to continue. I enjoy, again, representing those people that have surrounded this program for time.

Regarding possible coaching changes:
I’m not really ready to say that there won’t be some changes in the staff. I don’t know that I necessarily am going to be the factor there as opposed to other great opportunities. So we’ll have to see how that goes.

On being criticized by the fan base:
Criticism is a position that I, in the position that I hold, I certainly have to understand…At times, my inability to communicate to you exactly what’s going on or how we’re going to address it and why is based on the fact that what’s best for the program… If you look back at some of the issues throughout the season, the only thing that the coach may well have done very, very well was protect his team. And at times, that’s the most important job that you have. Frankly, that’s the position that I have.

Booing:
I’m against booing. Booing is not something that I have ever done nor that I understand. It’s the antithesis of…That mean’s the opposite… The antithesis of positive. Booing is completely and entirely negative.

Anytime that you vision a decision, I think there’s a potential of other outcome.

I didn't know he was capable of saying "booing", thought he preferred "rooting negatively".

Thoughts on money and tenure:
I think those coaches that want tenure over annual fee, I guess what I’m saying is, I would much rather – I want to be here. We might have a bump here or two, but dadgonnit, we’re going to get to the top.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
I think my strength and my weakness is loyalty…I will always see it as a strength.

On where he is:
I’m one of those guys who believes that where you’re at is where you live your life.

My favorite part was, and I forget the exact words, about him and UM.

He said basically that he loves UM, they had a lot invested in him (putting him thru school), has ties to UM, blah blah blah... ..."but I'm an LSU tiger".

By far the best Press Conference Les has ever done!
