To assume low-ball is to not be a school that allows the idiocy of Alabama and the like to dictate overpaying for a coach.
Low-ball = a reasonable offer to most that was below Les' current Salary. I am not saying their intent was to use Les as some cover. I think honestly, they figured to offer him what they felt was reasonable (I'd guess around $2.5M to $3M/year) with less guaranteed money than he has here. Les obviously thought about it and probably said "Thanks, but no thanks".
Why is that so hard to grasp? I am sure LSU's AD and board freaked and pulled a Bertman overpaying AGAIN to keep Miles.
Les made a smart business move for him and his family. Both sides will spin it how they want though.

because it's irrational, illogical and ridiculous. To think that the AD of Michigan took a corporate jet all the way to Baton Rouge to purposely mislead a coaching candidate into a job opportunity, to intentionally mislead another professional individual with a financial package that was less than he's making already all under the guise of some homegrown PR campaign is about the stupidest thing anyone has ever written on this board. You may want to check yourself for brain damage

you sure? are you certain a deal has been re-worked yet again?
