Where is the official statement?

You would think Alleva and the LSU admin would put something out within minutes of a signed deal with all the speculation that has been going on.
Did Alleva go to Dallas as well? Is the deal just verbally agreed upon at the moment instead of signed and sealed?
Of course I believe he is staying, but something official released by LSU would be nice

Why does everyone think they are in such a rush to tell us? I'm sure Alleva is frantically typing up a statement right now so that TigerDroppings will cool down.

I am with you, I want to see something from the University as well. The timing is not great though. Miles is on his way to Dallas, I think we see something this evening but thats just my gut feeling.

BATON ROUGE - LSU head football coach Les Miles notified LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva on Tuesday morning that he will remain at LSU.
"I am pleased to announce that Les Miles will remain the head coach at LSU," said Alleva. "Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field. We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership."
Miles will have a press conference upon his return from Dallas where he is speaking at the convention of the American Football Coaches Association.
