We didn't have 30,000 there.

Read what other posters are saying who were actually there. LSU fans made up 25%-30% of the attendance.

25% of 80,000 = 20,000.

College Station is about 3 hours from Arlington, so it is not like Baton Rouge to New Orleans. Sure Aggie fans are closer, but LSU should have traveled better.

There is no way in hell it was 70-75% Aggies. I was on the Aggie side in Sec 303 (corner of the end zone), and it looked like the other half half of the stadium was all LSU. A&M had a majority of the end zones, so it was probably 60-40. Maybe 65% if you're being generous.

bad comparison. College station is small and in the middle of nowhere. Not many graduates, if any at all, live in CS. Most live in Houston or DALLAS...

LSU traveled very well considering:

-A&M knew a week ahead of time
-A&M has 50,000 students, that's a lot more people and alumni that can buy up tickets in that extra week.
-It was in A&M's home state, close to almost all of it's alumni base.
-This game was huge for A&M, whereas it was a consolation prize for us. (would have been in new orleans had we not choked against Ark.)
