Sorry to start the debate up all over again, but I went to Cap City after the cirque show last night and it was much better and even easier to eat without everything falling out of the po-boy. Also for those that haven't had it, the tenderloin salad at Cap City was great; highly recommended. I'll probably write a review, but I don't think they need a lot more hyping up.

They have a place in Zachary named Fracois. They have the best french dip in the surrounding area FWIW.

I was restricting the debate to Baton Rouge. I know there are tons of places that make them better than the best Baton Rouge French Dip. In fact though, I'm still trying to find the best place in Baton Rouge.

Never had the french dip at Cajun catch but their seafood is off the hook. My second fav sandwich in zac is the grilled shrimp poboy w bellpeppers and pepperjack at big easy.

I like the one at Cap City ok, but i wish the beef wasn't so well done. The one at Acme is a 10 napkin roast beef poboy, no au jus to dip it in unless you're talking about another sandwich that I'm not familiar with.

Ummmm not to be a stickler but

Capital City french dip sandwich =/= Acme roast beef poboy

They are not the same sandwich and thus not comparable

ETA: I see Politiceaux mentioned the same thing

Which was partially the point of my post. They're two different types of sandwiches. The OP was the one making a direct comparison, not me.
