Players think Miles is gone

I talked to a few of my sources that have kept me in the loop throughout the entire Ridley situation (and turned out to be correct), and they feel that Miles is gone this time.
Paraphrasing, but the general consensus is that in 2008, Miles was adamant with the players that he was staying put and vehemently denied all of the reports behind closed doors. Fastforward to 2011 and Miles has been much more melancholy about the entire situation. Although he is trying to keep the team focused on the A&M game, he has not been as steadfast as he was in 2008. Take it for what its worth, but the portion of players to which I am privileged enough to have access believe Miles will be taking the Michigan job on Saturday at the earliest, but probably some time around Wednesday.
Granted, they do not have access to the actual specifics of the situation, but this is the feeling that they have regarding Miles' future at LSU. Also, they are not neccessarily upset about the potential move. They believe they will win a NC next year with or without Miles, although they would appreciate the continuity.

I don't know whats going to happen....but these are two completely different situations. If they're basing their opinion on what happened in '07 they are making a mistake.

Choctaw, you are so knowledgable.

believe it when I see it. Players are closer than most, but they're not likely to have the best insight on this; they never are.

LSU would be in a huge bind filling the spot w/ a great coach and holding together the class

I know that, and I am sure they do as well. I was just told that they "feel" pretty strongly that he is toast after the bowl game. Obviously they could be completely wrong.
They also said that they think Crowton would go with him, but Chavis would stay if the new coach will have him. Frank as well. Both of those coaches are ecstatic about the talent pool they have brought in, including this year's class.

take care of the 1st and the second will fall into place. I guarantee a very good coach will be at LSU next year either way.

that can mean a number of things:
--he has not been contacted and would like to
--he has been contacted and does not know what to do
--he has been contacted but will not entertain the idea until after the Cotton Bowl
--he is having a melancholy period in his life
--he does not want to go thru the DRAMA as last time.
time will tell..I promise, it will all get solved.

how does Crowton translate into "Michigan football" and 3yds and a cloud of dust?

If this turns out to be true, Slackster will be approaching belowpar greatness

Agreed, but I think any new coach would see the value of Frank as a coach and recruiter, especially with this class, and with Chavis.
