Yeah I've still got the camera on it. Should get more snow pics tomorrow. It's not going to be much longer till they've got him reduced to bones and start scattering them. I want that head before then. I'll probably wrap it in wire, tie a rope to it and chunk it in the bayou to finish off so I don't lose it to the coyotes.
BP I was too. It was obvious things were messing with it but I had the camera too high. I still think a bobcat ate the lips off it first.
I've added the pics to the front page of the thread for those that don't want to go find them.

Just an FYI, I've taken almost seven hundred pics with this Moultrie I35 and it's only down to 75% battery life.
I also used a cheap Wildgame camera this year and got about two hundred pics and it was stone cold dead.

Thanks!
That trapping thread got me thinking I could put a leg trap between the log and the hog and almost positively catch that yote.

That's what I have been waiting to see, but no luck yet.
Badass pics nonetheless. Thanks for sharing!

Any new pics?
Just curious what those scavengers have done to it.

Those are current up to Saturday
They don't eat that hide apparently. Or not yet at least. But everything between hide and bone... like it never existed if they can reach it. I got the jawbone out because I was worried they were about to drag it all apart. Rolled that head over and almost vomited. Very bad. Left the skull. Let them clean it up some more.

Yeah I think the birds are the final straw. That sucker ain't gonna be much more than pig skin and bones if he's not already there by now. They didn't leave much by Saturday. They must have eaten sixty plus pounds in 24 hours by the pics. Just amazing stuff.
I want that skull before they eat it too. But not sure it's worth the trouble. Can't decide what my trophy presentation is going to be on big hogs.
Could do a bleached skull with jaw and teeth although the teeth are barely in there and will need to be glued. Or I could say hell with that and just take the cutters and put them on a string.

The problem with staking out this spot is it's in the middle of a ten year old cutover. Full blown thicket. No place for a stand and you couldn't see anyway.

i like a good bleached skull.

I do too but you've gotta boil it and then bleach it and then deal with the mounting etc, etc, etc.
Here's one I did before that I'm proud of.

This is the deer I passed on, as well as the one in the pic above. Shot him by accident in low light. His little brother was there with the exact same horns but smaller so when I saw him I thought he was a lot bigger. Never regretted shooting a deer more in my life. But at least I let this one go....
And then the next year they sold the lease to make a subdivision.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Faxis, thanks for the thread and the updates. Checking for updates has become part of my daily routine. Hate to see the old boar go but been fun.
