I just went to Frankie's Dawg House on Perkins Rd next to Zippy's. It was pretty awesome! I tried the Morning Glory Dawg with bacon cheese and fried eggs and the Situation with mac and cheese and bacon. Both were incredible! Cajun fries were great too! Asked the hours and they are mon-sat 11-2 and thursday fri sat 5-2:30am. I will be back.

This is such a great idea! I've seen places like this all over other parts of the country. I'm glad someone is bringing something new to BR! The article in country roads lists some of the menu and it sounds amazing...can't wait til it opens!

We have Chicago Al's. I'll try this place since it's by my house, but I don't need a fried egg or PB&J on my dogs. Are the digs themselves any good?

Anyone see the names?

Cock Fighter: add 2 all-beef wieners in 1 bun $2.00

The Erin Andrews (Damn Hot!!): Hot Smoked sausage topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos and banana peppers

I'll skip the:

Dirk Diggler Dawg
8 all-beef hot dogs loaded with chili, cheese, grilled onion, bell peppers, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, jalapenos and banana peppers wrapped in 2 big flour tortillas

Some of 'em sounded good, others seemed a little too over the top.

You must be the Frankie?

We aren't as smart as some people, but give us a little credit.

I told Frankie to post on here but I guess he went the alter route instead of asking Chicken to advertise or say he was open.

Bad first move Frankie.

The dogs and fries better be huge otherwise $5.00 for a dog and $3 for fries is not going to fly.

Good luck Frankie.

Someone in BR needs to hit them up and try it out and report back with a valid review.

$8 lunches are pretty normal in the area, though. They'll need to include a soft drink with this price in order to have a chance.

I don't know prices but where in the hell are people going for lunch where they aren't paying at least 10 dollars or close to it? Unless you want complete shite, five dollar lunches aren't available.

I'm trying it this week and will report back.

Well, I was comparing it to the quick places like Schlittz, Jimmy Johns, Zippys, Five Guys, Izzos, Jasons Deli, Serops Express, Main Street Market, etc where it seems like my lunches are usually around $8. I probably should pay more attention to how much I spend on lunches, and I realize a lot of lunch places cost more, but they usually aren't fast food.

There are tons of plate lunch places and fast food for about this price but as I said, if the dog is small, this won't fly.

Does anyone just eat 1 hot dog when you cook them at home? Thus my statement that they better be decent size. And same for the fries. Most fast foods places don't charge that much for fries.

I don't want to pay $10 for fast food and not even be filled up.

This is all just speculation until someone actually heads there and tries the place out. I hope it is great and I hope it is worth the price.

Because.....we need him to expand down to New Orleans if it works out.

Fast Food is crap. I don't want to eat fast food five days a week. And what I get at most fast food places are 7 bucks to begin with.

A hot dog is fast food.

$11.00 is expensive for fast food. There is no arguing that fact.

As I said for the 3rd time, if it is high quality and decent size then maybe it is worth it. But if the portions are small then no, $11.00 for a dog fries and coke is a rip off.

Please stop being so literal. Fast food doesn't mean quick. Fast food means McDonald's, Canes, Wendy's, Burger King, etc. Not some local hot dog place that does it all in house.

Are you Frankie's cousin?

I have stated that it MIGHT be worth it and I WANT it to work.

You haven't even eaten there and you are defending the place like you own it.

Based on the only information available at this point, $11.00 is HIGH for a hot dog coke and fries. This is Baton Rouge not New York or Chicago.

No I'm obviously not his cousin just a poster that has the ability to distinguish between fast food places and local places that serve food quickly.
