what makes it so sad is it really did seem like y'all were on the cusp. Especially in such a weak arse division. I was thinking the 9ers would walk into the playoffs and be healthy and rested and ready to make a 2008 arizona like run. I was way off.

We were on the cusp. Alex Smith despite all his faults isn't that bad a QB. We have by FAR the most talent in the division. We were the consensus West pick for a reason. Should have been a 10-6 team.

well, here's to a new leader.

there is still enough talent that a good coach can salvage whats left next year.

I've always been a big fan of his but I still try to watch him objectively. I really don't think he's a bad QB at all. He's not elite, but I think in a steady offense he could be just fine.

I figure he won't be the starter next year, but to me Singletary's replacement is all I care about now.
