I hope you're going with someone that knows the area.
The water is extremely low and there are sand bars everywhere.
If you know where you are going, stay on the East side of the River, look at the tides and hopefully you're going in a Pro-Drive. Dont think an outboard is going to do you any good unless you bring a pirogue.

I'm going with a friend who's familiar with the area. All the reports I'm reading look promising.

Best to hunt that area with high tide, and south wind.I used to say when your cement is sweating get your arse down there. On the right day there is no better duck hunting in the country.Don't go on bluebird north wind days.Best time to hunt is day before front.

a few buddies of mine limited most of the hunts out there the first split. you and your buddy shouldnt have a problem getting your limit.

Well then you should be fine....everyone has been murdering the ducks down there the firt split...mostly on the East side of the River, but if you know the right place to go (South of campground) there are ducks by the thousands. Good luck!!

Hope your friend REALLY knows his way around. Some of the toughest hunting conditions you'll find in LA. Be careful and good luck.

Give us an update....I wanna see how your hunt went. I'm going down there monday so I need a scouting report. We did good the first split so I'm hoping things are getting even better

sadly due to boat issues we didn't get to hunt on sunday.
...but my friend had gone to the day before with someone else and they had their two man limit easily.
