Why are some frames more transparent than others in .gif files.

I'm not sure why this is happening. May have something to do with the quality of the source video

I noticed a long time ago that my .gif's made with GIMP were not as crisp as those who use photoshop. They colors tended to bleed together sometimes giving the gifts a cartoonish look. I don't know if it will solve this problem but it does make for a much better looking .gif. go to IMAGE>MODE>INDEX>floyd-steinberg( reduce color bleeding) listed under "color dithering". This keeps me from loosing picture quality of my .gif. If you like this "dithering" move thank Rattlehead, he turned me on to it!

On GIMP, is there a way to select multiple layers to merge layers down at the same time?

Also, is there a way to put a border around text on GIMP, such as the "fail" in this picture
