Shouldn't I be enjoying the Florida meltdown?

No, it's not right and it's not like our offense set the world on fire.

But, Meyer's offense only worked with a 240 lb QB who could outrun the secondary. How do you fail with a guy like that at QB?

Still, Miles offense only worked with Jamarcus or Matt Flynn.

But, even though Meyer failed this year, he's got the blessing of St. Timothy...doesn't that count for something?

Screw it, I'm a Tiger grad, we play Florida every year, they dance in the streets when they beat us, go melt yourselves down Florida. Try hiring Curley Hallman or Gerry Dinardo...they're looking for better jobs.

I always feel like that until it actually happens. I tell myself that if UF or BAMA loses there coach or has a bad season that i'm just going to bask in it, but then when it really happens I almost feel more sorry for the fanbase. I guess im saving karma just in case the most horrible happens to us

Remember Bear Bryant 165+ football scholarships every year with Auburn an also ran in the state. ala. had a nervous breakdown when LSU was No. 1 in 2004 and 2008. The top salary for college coaches back then was $2 million dollars so ala. goes after former LSU coach and desperately offers him twice the salary rate or $4 million dollars. That is why we are all screwed up with these over the top salaries today. Good riddance to ala.

Enjoy the Gator meltdown while it lasts. Auburn and Arky are next. That's what happens when you build a program around one or two star players who leave for the NFL or graduate.

Conversely, LSU has a hell of a lot of depth on both O and D. With a decent QB, the Tigers (the real Bengals from the bayou, not the split personality kitty cat-war chickens from Ala-frickin'bama) would have gone undefeated in 2010.

If Mettenberger lives up to expectations, LSU looks strong to win the SEC and go to the NCG in 2011. Other than LSU, Miss State and Bama, the SEC West next year won't be like it was this season with 5 powerhouse, ranked teams. The SEC East will get better with USC coming back strong and UF, Georgia, Tenn and UK all improving dramatically.

How? We've been pretty damn good this past decade too. Not to mention Bama had a good run.

+1

AU is one sprained ankle away from mediocre. But in Urban's defense, his offense worked through his entire career, way before St Timmy.

Look, I'm not a big fan of Meyer, in fact I think he's a scumbag crybaby who can't handle losing and that's why he quit. But his offenses has worked at Bowling Green, Utah, and Florida without Tebow. (Yes I know Tebow was used in 2006, but Chris Leak was the primary QB)
