If your buddy came away feeling “sunshine and rosy” about the meeting/conversation I am sure the agent sensed that, wrote some ticket to re-establish his authority and drove away thinking it just got that much easier to have his way out there. Seems to me you either act now or subject yourself to the torture of hoping that it’s over. You’ll go mad every time you drive out there wondering what’s next. IMO. Shitty deal all around hope it works out for you and your friend.
