Houston is a decent opponent for the Tigers and a great test before the 2 week hiatus for finals. In our last meeting was in 2005 where Houston won 84-83 in Baton Rouge. Should be a well played game.
Some stats on Houston:
Starters:
PG Nixon (6'1") 7PPG
SG Thibodeaux (6'3") 9.2PPG
G Brown (6'4") has scored 20+ in 4 of 6 games
F Slyke (6'9") 8.7PPG
F McNeil (6'9") has scored 10+ in 3 of 6 games
Bench:
F Washington (6'7") 11.5PPG
F Harris (6'6") 6PPG
G Johnson (6'2") 2.3PPG
Stat Comparison:
Record: LSU 4-2 UH 4-2
Points: LSU 73.0 UH 71.2
Pts allow: LSU61.2 UH 65.3
Rebounds: LSU 38.5 UH 37.2
FG%: LSU 42.3 UH 47.5
3pt%: LSU 41.3 UH 39.6
FT%: LSU 68.8 UH 63.0
Turnovers: LSU 15.2 UH 17.5
Other Notes:
Houston beat Nicholls State 63-62 in OT while LSU lost 53-62. Both teams played Nicholls on their home court.
Houston plays mostly man to man defense.
Houston has yet to give up 70 points in a game while LSU has allowed 70 points twice.
Houstons biggest concern is ball control. They are prone to having high turnover numbers.
Prediction:
Should be a great game. I think LSU continues to hit some shots tonight and pulls away late.
LSU 73 v Houston 60

I think we've seen enough to know that any game where both starting freshman guards are on, the Tigers will be tough to beat. Dotson appears to be consistant and the big guys will be solid. FWIW Nichols caught LSU on a night when no one was hitting their shots. Nichols coach also said his team blew the Houston game and learned from it. It's been a long time since LSU had 4 legitimate 3-point threats. Fun to watch. I pick the Tiger to prevail tonight; 75-69.

Should be a good game. I'm hoping SportsTalk 790 will have it streaming live. Doubtful though, since UH has their own version of "Geaux Zone" and may place the same restrictions.
If not, I may try to listen to it through XM.

But through their live streaming link? I know you can listen to it through an actual radio through them.
I'm thinking they may black it out, like Geaux Zone does. I.e. radio affiliates aren't allowed to broadcast the game over the internet live.

Yeah, if it's set up like LSU's, it will probably be blacked out.

When does Harris return? He should be able to help this team.

As of now it's now blacked out. Cross your fingers that it stays that way. The schedule says it supposed to be alternative programming.
