it's kind of endearing that every small town in germany has a brewery. but there's a lot of cheap nasty shite in plastic bottles brewed and consumed (mostly by kids, deadbeats, poles, and ossies) in germany - and most of it is sold at aldi.

of course the styles are limited but there's more out there than one expects - pils/lager, light and dark weißen, märzen, schwarzbier, bockbier, rauchbier, and kellerbier. to say nothing of the nasty-as-all-hell radler and diesel.
