No, I was saying due to the high level of success in the late 90's of "white" entertainment for lack of a better term, it wouldn't be at all surprising that roles where no race was specifically assigned would be filled mostly by white people. I just think the OP is reading too much into it a quirk of the film he noticed, but I could be wrong because I know nothing about the author of Gattaca.

I'm trying to illustrate just how dumb it is.
This is one of my favorite movies and of all the times I watched it, I never once thought "gee, there should be more black people in this." I didn't think it of asians, or any other race for that matter either.
