I don't think it's necessarily a good thing to score fast against arky. I plays right into their hands and we end up on a shoot out, where defense is on the field to long. The ideal plan would be to run the ball, control the clock, have a balanced attack and keep their offense off the field and unable to get in any rythm. All th while reserving the right to strike if need be. I think this is miles fundamental game plan most of the time, and explains why so many games are close and we win in the end. It is also reflective of his big ten roots. Playing not to lose, Not such bad strategy and it shows how much he believes in his team and defense.

i think this is his basic philosophy, and tweaks it according to need of the game.

Oh, and he could give a rats arse what anyone thinks about it.

It is a good strategy in theory, until you think about how quick our average scoring drive is. LSUs best bet is to score 24+ quick and to hold on for dear life

This defense should come out swinging so our offense should be able to work without too much pressure.

your proving my point. Long sustained drives by our offense = piggies off the field.

your "short" drives with your offense will also become longer or shorter (depending on how you look at it) due to our "defense".

we are basically going to get you to play OUR game. Not the other way around.

Thats pretty much what they been doing lately. Not so much against State, they were scoring to quickly. Davis is the real deal. If he doesnt get slowed down it will not be good.

With Davis and Mallett they are a 2 (meth) headed dragon. We can key on the run but then Mallett can hurt us and vice versa.

I agree with the OP and hope to see lots of Ridley, JJ, and Ford for 4+ yards all day long.

Yea, I'm sure this is what LSU coaches and players are thinking. I'm sure Miles has put up bulliten board material of all the Arkansas SEC and National titles. I'm sure Nevis, Shep, and Peterson are scared sh*tless.

I like Miles offensive game plan for Alabama for Arkansas, which was something like...."we wanted to muddle around for 2 quarters, then break out the 'monkey off your back' play in the third quarter and secure victory"
