I understood about 10% of the article, but this part sounds promising -

Through accounting voodoo Demps turned Peja, Bayless, and our $6.2 million MoPete trade exception into Jack, Banks, Andersen and a $9.7 million Peja trade exception.

Yeah, we also can still cut Pops and Mbenga if we need to which would give us almost $2 million more under the tax to make moves. The job Demps has done is kind of mind boggling.
