Why doesn’t it count if we beat a ranked team if they were ranked when we beat them?

Who said it doesn't count?

I was just showing a break down of how it works when you use currently ranked teams (as most of the CPU polls do in evaluating SOS).

Unfortunately for college football, I don't get an actual say in the BCS.

When we played them they were ranked as if they were ranked and the media ranked them.

And now, based on their body of work, some teams are not. This works both ways. We get credit for beating a ranked Mississippi State team now even though they weren't ranked when we played them.

That makes 5 ranked teams and more than anyone else this year.

By your criteria, we drop Mississippi State and only have four on the schedule.
