Black Ops multiplayer question

Another BO thread, I know.
I see someone, start shooting, and after a bullet or so leave my barrel I die. Then I see their kill cam and on their screen, they saw me way before I saw them and started shooting before I did, which on my screen I started shooting first.
Now I assume it's lag, but I've NEVER had lag problems...It doesn't seem laggy while I'm playing, and can play any other game without lag.
Does anyone else have this problem? I feel like I get alot of deaths which IMO should be kills based of whats on my screen.

FWIW this also happened in MW2 alot for me.
I'm sure this happens sometimes to ppl you kill too. Just chalk it up as the cost of doing business.

Not complaining or trying to bitch. It just never happened to me on MW2, COD4, or Reach.
And I'm sure I've got kills where someone thought the same thing. It just seems to happen so often.

They have a good amount of connection issues on BO. I is just the nature of the beast when you combine all those networks into one room

Its the P2P hosting system. Its garbage and so is the matchmaking.
Most people playing the COD games don't really understand how this works.
Game-play quality will vary from game to game depending on the hosts connection and your proximity to the host. Each player will have a different degree of latency to each other player.
In MW1 being host was a license to rape but they have changed that.

I don't notice any lag in the gameplay.. but the kill cams always look off to me.

speaking of killcams, after i die my killer's perks 1-3 stays up on my screen until i die again. anyone else have this problem?

The killcam shows exactly what your killer saw.
Too often you see someone first and start shooting them only to die. The killcam then shows you never firing a shot. Your opponent never saw you fire either and probably thinks he saw you first.
This is LAG from the P2P hosting system.
I dont know why people think they dont have lag just because the game is not stuttering/ghosting/rubberbanding etc.
The killcam will show how much lag you are experiencing and it will be a different amount relative to each player in that game. It will then be different again when there is a new host.

I'm having the same problems.
I've been doing a little research on it. The problem is community wide. There are people complaining about inconsistent killcams with pings(latency) in the single digits.

I can handle getting killed by some douchebag that's cheating with a glitch, it's hard to handle constant deaths from lag.

It is absolutely true. If everyone understood this there would probably be a lot more complaining. They provided dedicated servers to PC players for BO after they went crazy over MW2 P2P hosting.
There is no way to fix it without dedicated servers. There is no way Activision is going to pay for servers for several million console users. And if they did they would use the cheapest ones available like EA does and the problems would still exist.
