If auburn loses 1/2 to bama/uga and loses in the SECCG, LSU could easily go

All that would have to happen is Oregon to lose 1 of their last 3 games (they play AZ as well as @ their rival Ore St). Nebraska may also need to lose, which is easily possible after they nearly lost to IOWA ST and got blown out by an AWFUL Texas team.

They won't let Boise and TCU play for it all.

Plus i think Boise and TCU have played in bowl games the past 2 years. 3 in a row, NOT SO FAST. And espeically they won't let two mid-majors play for it. One will get a shot, not both

What about this scenatio. LSU wins out and winds up 3rd. Auburn loses to Bama and drop to 8th. Then win the SECCG but only move up to 5th. What do you think? This is saying that Boise and TCU win out and Wisconsin and Nebraska do also.

na, it would be an 07 UGA scenerio, and i would support AU jumping us

identical records, plus they beat us head to head

UGA was ahead of us until the humans manipulated us back into second because of that same scenerio. and that was without us have even played UGA that year

Auburn will not lose to Bama or UGA. We need to work on gwtting to a BCS Bowl. I think AU runs the table.

Haha, he is the BCS guru

I think this scenerio is going COMPLETELY ignored, and IMHO I think it's the most likely way LSU gets there.

TCU or Boise ain't losing. Oregon needs to lose 1, auburn needs to lose 1/2 (most likely to bama) then go down to USCe or (hopefully) to UF because that would help our strength of schedule because we played Florida (or maybe help offset the strength lost by our loss losing---wording sucks but you get the point)

TigahRag, you must be jealous of LSUMAtt. This is the second time tonight that you have made a smarty remark about him and what he does on here. I enjoy reading his "what would happen if . . . " scenarios. Apparently, the guy spends a lot of time working on it. He did give us the '07 "what would happen" scenario and we all thought it was useless.

My point is this: If you want to spend the time working on a "what-if" thread, then we will probably all read it. If you don't, then quit bashing LSUMatt.

It will happen. Tell me how Auburn will stop Julio Jones. They won't be able to stack the box like they did to us because we couldn't pass. When that happens Ingram and Richardson will have a hay day.

I think Auburn loses to Bama but I don't think there's any way in hell they lose to Georgia. If that happened it would be hilarious because I'm pretty sure LSU can win out right now.

Scary to think how good this team would be with a quarterback.

Georgia in 2007 was completely different. They didn't really jump into the national title game discussion until all the chaos happened on championship weekend. LSU's already being mentioned as having an outside shot. Even on sportscenter they said LSU keeps their slim national title hopes alive after the highlights.

The fact LSU's being talked about is great and will only get louder if another upset or two happen.

ya im just saying if auburn runs the regular season table and loses the SECCG, IMHO we do not have an argument over them.

Identical records, and they beat us head to head on the field

Any given sunday or saturday in this situation. I do agree with you about Georgia but Georgia has something in common with bama and that is they have a very talented wide receiver and a QB to get him the ball. I see the Georgia defense being the downfall.

But we could win an arguement over a Boise or TCU if we were sitting at 3rd and Auburn lost the SECCG and ended up in like 8th. Many confrences don't have championship games and just because LSU didn't go to theirs in theory it shouldn't matter. But however knowing the voters I don't think we get in.

If Auburn beats UGA but loses to Bama.. that's really bad for us.. Auburn would either play for the NC or the Sugar bowl in that case.. If they managed to squeeze into the NC.. I would bet the humans would put bama in the sugar bowl..

If AU didn't make the NC.. There is no way we'd jump them to go.
We need AU to win out or to lose two (not the SECCG) to be in the BCS...

They won't let boise and tcu play for everything

1: they're midmajors and they want to see how they fair against a big boy for all the marbles

2: tcu and boise have played in bowls the past two years (against each other). they wont play again

oregon goes down, AU loses 1/2 to UGA/bama then loses to UF, Neb goes down once (very likely, and might not even have to happen)

I still believe that the powers that be want an LSU vs Oregon NC. The media loves to build storylines and an automatic rematch the first week in Jerry's world is a wet dream.

agreed

but we have to win the sec though or we're not getting there because boise/tcu isnt losing. au has to lose 2/2 bama/uga.
