And the Ole Miss games, yeah, frustrating. But a case could definitely be made that the past two years they were simply better than us.
A better case would be that LSU needed to redefine their goals for the season once the SEC was out of reach. What's your motivation when at best you're playing for a "more premiere" bowl? It's been noticeable in both 2008 and 2009, and could very well happen again this year should we *cough* let this game slip by us.
Nobody ever understands how huge psychological and motivational factors are in athletics. It's always a case of the bigger and faster guy dominating.

I don't disagree, but that happens EVERYWHERE.
Was Bama really 6-6 bad in 2007? I don't think so. But they fell apart after losing to LSU, even dropping to a vastly inferior ULM team.

Are you just typing to hear yourself talk? What awesome insight you have. I'm going to have to ponder this query the next time I defecate.
Understanding football is a birthright for such priveliged few. I work hard at it. Maybe if I try harder?
Miles' philosophy, as best I can tell, is to line his boys up and do exactly that. Out- athlete the opponent. Because I don't see any significant gamesmanship, and never do you see a halftime adjustment.
We defer to the second half, and always have. What is the total number of points we've scored when getting the ball on that opening drive of the second half post Matt Flynn? We're trying to keep the ball out of the hands of Cameron Newton, yet we give them the ball first, too?
It is my contention that we are sub .500 when we line up against teams of likewise talent. Is it your contention then that we were not adequately psyched or motivated for these opponents? So, to whom shall we assess this blame.
The original poster merely points out that games we won back when the program garnered respect are no longer being won. Sure, we're winning some games. The kind of games that keep you from falling out of the top 25 for too long a period of time.
But, LSU has the groceries for a gourmet meal, and the chef serves Lucky Dogs.
