Coaching is THE most overrated aspect of college football in the way it is commonly perceived.
You couldn't be more wrong and its obvious you've never coached. Coaching is the most critical aspect in almost any sport where the talent on the field is remotely level. If its not instilled by the current coach, those players had to get it from previous coaches.
Name me one mitigating factor in those losses?
Let's go through them:
UGA 2008 - Nope, you can blame the pick 6's all you want, LSU lost badly to a slightly above average team because of NO adjustments.
UF 2008 - Simply outclassed on defense and offense. What was that? McCray is asked to cover Harvin?
Alabama 2008 - You get your arse saved by a great FG block only to be over agressive in OT when you are running over the opponent. Moral victories, YAY!
Ole Miss 2008 - If your team gives up, it's on the coaches. We were down a ton before Lee's injury.
UF 2009 - We got outplayed and outcoached by a team with a QB coming off a bad concussion running the same play. LSU refused to adjust and offense was pathetic.
BAMA 2009 - If you want to claim Peterson's non-called INT changed the game, do you really think LSU was going to drive on BAMA for a TD after that? What are the chances? Well coached teams still can do it. Instead, you had a poorly coached special teams play that lead to that even happening in the first place.
Ole Miss 2009 - do i need to even go into this one?
Penn State 2009 - No adjustments at all, we lose on bad clock management again.
Auburn 2010 - We play scared on defense, refuse to start Lee, JJ throws a horrible INT that gives them the lead. Yup, mitigating circumstances.
So, I don't see any mitigating circumstances as you described.
