Gary Crowton is a class guy and has a great offensive mind,

I know this has all been hashed over before, but I just can't let that comment go by.

Crowton's play calling is abysmal. He runs out of running formations and passes out of passing formations - no variation - to a fault. He even has blocking wide receivers and a blocking tight that he sends in when a run is called. Does he think the other coaches in the SEC don't pick up on that? (this ain't the WAC). The most pathetic thing I saw all season was us going on 4th and short and Crowton going into the victory formation - and then running a qb sneak. From the formation, the whole world knew it was going to be a sneak. Why would anyone with a brain do that?

He is so pathological in his attempts to run differing types of plays that he becomes predictable. If he runs on first down he passes on second. If he passes on first down, most times he runs on second (almost irregardless of the first down play result).

His play calling never adapts or adjusts to the game situation or game experience. Against Aub, he had a first down vertical pass play called and Aub got called for offsides. Now it's 1st and 5, but Crowton doesn't change the play call, even though the circumstance had changed.

And, to beat a dead horse, but he continues to call plays that don't work and won't adapt to his players' abilities, the pathetic option play being only the most frequent example of many such failures, and his stubborn refusal to use Ridley more being another (how many times has Ridley rushed the ball twice in a row? - never - even if he gets 6 yards on 1st down).

Last thing. How many times this year have we run a screen pass? We're dying to get the ball to our "playmakers" with a qb that has trouble with accuracy, and we haven't run a screen pass all season. How about a middle screen against the Auburn D line that was in our backfield all game. Hell, if it doesn't work, throw it away. But try it at least once.

Saying Crowton is a great offensive mind -- I'm sorry, that is just absurd.
