The reason LSU and Auburn have such a highly competitive game every year is because LSU and Auburn are almost mirror images of each other. Both of want to be better than Bama, just as much as the Red Sox want to be better than the Yankees. We aren't.

The more you talk...the dumber it gets

How competitive has the Alabama/LSU game been the last 10 years? EVEN w/ Lord Saban there?

LSU is elite as it's ever been since 2001....deal with it

You might want to hold off on that question until after Lord Saban comes to visit in two weeks.

Because if LSU ever wants to be an elite team, beating Bama this year would go a long way towards that. Lord Saban didn't help our cause by getting LSU's arse kicked by Bama 31-0 in 2002.

Ohio State is considered to ba an ELITE program. Since 1970 they have 2 NC's, 1970 and 2002. They generally win the Big X or UM does. What makes them so Elite? Yes they have won lots of games but nationally they haven't done shyt!. They have yet to even beat 1 SEC team in a f*cking bowl game.

Listen, I hear you about LSU not having a "storied history" like Bama and UF. To say they are not elite is plain silly. They have some of the BEST facilities of ANY school in the SEC, if not the country. Louisiana is 1 of the top 10, maybe even 5 states that produce outstanding football talent as well.

I guess it is up to YOUR interpetation of "ELITE". There is always a beginning to everything. LSU is now considered elite, if not, why do you think the media would bother to even discuss the poor coaching so much? There is plenty of focus and media coverage because we are considered to field a plethora of talent EVERY year that competes with ANY university out there.

Lastlt, we may not have ELITE coaching but make no mistake that this program is considered elite. Tradition may not be storied but that is a different conversation.
