I'm sure this was talked about after the game but i try to stay away from the scoreboard on gamedays because of the chaos. Now that everyone has had sometime to calm down and all does it seem weird to anyone else that we let Ware throw a pass before Shep? just kinda been thinking about it since the game and i know Ware played QB in HS but still just kinda baffles me

thoughts?

We have a five star option quarterback on our roster and we still run a guy that has about as zero lateral mobility in tight spaces with JJ. JJ ran well the other day but he can run straight and that is all. Not much of a threat, just can move the chains from time to time before we bring the D back on the field.

thoughts are what most coaches would do we do the opposite. It worked that's for sure. It doesn't matter because JJ and J.Lee will share time the rest of their college years.

LOL. This may be a first - a non-QB QB controversy is officially brewing.

I don't care at all about Ware throwing a pass and not Shep.

I do, however, care that we relegate our offense to having one quarterback that is basically not even a runner, run exclusively when we have a guy that has proven at the high school level that he's one of the best at it.

Just throw my hands up in the air because it makes no sense.

Not weird at all...I would say it was certainly telling. To me it was confirmation that the coaching staff has no confidence in Shep throwing the ball. I think that's more obvious now.

I kinda think we should let them both throw it some from now on. Hell, what could it hurt?

I do not believe the coaches "the Hat" let the best for the team play. I think they are loyal to seniority and the Hat has too much heart. It seems that he feels like he owes it to the more senior guy. I think he doesn't want a better QB to appear because he would take on too much heat and have to start them over JJ or even J.Lee. He wants to get by with them and then make a change. I honestly believe this.

Crowton spends too much time out thinking himself. I'm sure his line of thought was:

- AU might expect a pass from Shep
- AU probably won't expect a pass from Ware
- Let Ware throw pass

This is a running theme with Crowton and instead of taking what the D is giving he constantly tries to get too fancy.

This in no way explains why a freshman threw a pass before a sophomore, and if that one pass somehow convinced you that both Ware and Shep are better than JJ and JL, you might be retarded.

Ok, so you are.

My opinion on our QBs if used correctly*starting last year and moving into this year*

1.) RS=> Should probably be starting this year at QB, or at least doing the switch like MF/RP did. Would take over next year and easily.

2.) SW=> Share carries in the backfield, but also have option throws like he did against Auburn. Stay RB, but have a few passing plays.

3.) JL=> Should be splitting time with RS at QB, and be the main focus point. Would sit next year behind RS, and play if needed.

4.) TCM=> Call plays and watch. Do not play

5.) JJ=> Just watch the game

6.) BB=> Who?

Why don't they play them both at the same time?
I don't mean every down, but either could take the snap from the shotgun, and either would be a dangerous threat to get the ball.

Exactly.

It seems like Crowton runs a play based on the fact that the other team wont expect it instead of running a play that is working.

This happens repeatedly throughout his LSU tenure. Something is working, player is taken out and it is not run again.

I'm not bitching about it at all. I think people are crazy to even mention shep relative to that play. I'm just saying, that play should shut the people up who keep bitching that shep should be allowed to throw the ball. If that play doesn't prove that the coaching staff must have good reason for shep not throwing a pass, then nothing will.

I think Ware is a closely held secret. He might have the talent to be another Denard Robinson; but with Crowton running things we'll never know. Hell, when Mettenberger shows up next spring Crowton will take one look at him and send him to John Chavis to play DE or linebacker.
