We all know that LSU has an extremely solid defense, but during the Florida game I noticed that the lack depth on the defensive line (due to injuries) seemed to hurt us in the second half. Assuming Auburn will run a no huddle offense, is any one else worried about the lack of depth?

I think I'm more worried about the lack of bulk.

At least LSU has the deepest defensive backfield in the universe...

At DE Mingo is ready to come in, then we have brockers and Downs at DT. All of whom have seen significant action this year and contributed well.

Is downs playing? I thought he was hurt before the florida game and didn't see any or saw very minimal action.

With the redshirt off copeland, I think he could be used for some depth at de.

I think he might be strictly at FB (at least for the next few game)

Copeland's gonna play DT if in on D. Maclin will provide the DE depth.

What more depth do you want? Teams rarely go beyond the 2-deep in a game unless a player gets injured and is out. Sorry, but I didn't see a tired defensive line against Florida.

Defensive Ends
Lavar Edwards
Chancey Aghayere
Barkevious "Facemask" Mingo
Ken Adams

Defensive Tackle
"The Drake" Nevis
Pep Levingston
Michael "Rocker" Brockers
Josh Downs

Throw in a little Bennie Logan at DT and Justin Maclin at DE, but the above 2 deep is plenty enough to make it 4 quarters.

The depth on the D-Line is the last thing we need to worry bout. Yeah we don't have Montgomery but Mingo, Pep, and Edwards can take of business. And do I really need to get started on Brockers and Nevis?

you can make a list of players, but it doesn't mean its quality depth. And by tired in the Florida game I just remember Nevis was not on the field for a majority of the second half, but it could have been an injury, I'm not sure.
All I am trying to say is that Auburn has a potent rushing attack. They have gone over 200 yards in all but one game ( 190 against Miss. State). Our defense line needs to play lights out and the depth of LSU's d-line worries me a little bit.
I can see some phantom cramps happening throughout this game, especially if Auburn is running the no huddle effectively.

If depth is an issue and your guys were gassed at any point in that FL game...I'm thinking you're in trouble. We run plays at light speed in comparison to FL and more effectively.

On the flip side, throw the ball every down against us and you'll win the game hands down.

See Aub vs. Ark for winning strategy on scoring
See Aub vs. Clemson on stopping our offense

We had a bunch of guys cramping at Florida. I don't expect that to be an issue. Like the Aubbie poster said, though, they are a fast-break offense. Depth will be an issue if LSU doesn't get a few 3-and-outs. The good news is LSU does have some depth as another poster pointed out, especially if Downs can go a series or two.

no.
drake and the d will wear down the cam protection and start pounding cam in the 4th.

either our d scores 21 pts off cam mistakes including 2 pick 6

or:

winning td drive by lee in last minutes.

I don't remember anyone "pounding" Jamarcus Russell when you guys had him and Newton is a ghost in the backfield despite being the same size.

Only good things have happend so far when our O line breaks down. It really is kind of freakish...

Check out some Cam YouTube (any game--you choose)when the protection breaks down in past games and clue me into your devine strategy after you pick your jaw up off the floor.

It's not like as if LSU hasn't seen that before. Geez remember what conference we play. Every year we face some hotshot QB. Newton is not the first or the last to be spectacular. Chavis is for sure not all that shocked.

Chavis is great and the LSU defense is a hallmark SEC defense (a lost art for most of the league this year)but there isn't a DC in the nation that isn't freaked out by Newton and this offense right now (including Chavis) and its just silly to state otherwise.
