Good article. This is one of the more positive outlooks I've seen about the Hornets.

OUTLOOK: The Hornets have the tools to get back into the postseason, but it is now up to Williams to find the right mix. A fast start is crucial, otherwise the Paul trade rumors will heat up quicker than St. Barts during a modeling photo shoot.

New Orleans has a very solid starting five as long as Paul and West are healthy and Ariza will give the first unit some more energy and quickness over Stojakovic. Meanwhile, Stojakovic, Thornton and Green make up a solid second unit as well.

A big step forward by Okafor could make the Hornets legitimate contenders in the Western Conference, and even a normal season out of the center should still be enough to return the Hornets to the postseason. However, the new pieces probably need a season of work together before they morph into big-time threats.

Kind of the same stuff I read in this preview

Looking at the starting five, I’d put it up there with the best teams in the league as long as Monty is able to get some kind of defensive production out of West and a revival out of Okafor. The bench is young, but all of a sudden coming together as a much improved unit. The addition of a capable backup point guard and a few big bodies down low is really going to go a long way in relieving some of the pressure off of Paul, West and Okafor. Best case scenario, I see this team as a 6-8 seed playoff team with the ability to maybe advance into the second round. Will this be enough to keep Paul around? Only time will tell.
