Well, the first Slackster Computer Objective Ratings, or SCOR, are now available. I messed around with some different formulas but I am now satisfied with the ranking formula, which I posted in LSUMatt's BCS thread. On average for the Top 25, I am within 2 spots of the consensus computer ratings of the official BCS computers, so I am happy enough. Obviously a rating that mimicked the BCS computers would be redundant anyway. So, here they are, 1-120, with the FCS schools all grouped into one, 0-7 team, to make it easy for computations. SEC teams are highlighted yellowish

For clarification, the PCT is not a teams percentage of total possible points, but rather the team's percentile rank among the 120 teams. I will fix this ASAP.

Sorry about the random "red dot" pictures. I do not know how to get rid of them.

Yea. I am sure you noticed that it is my username as well, hence the use of "proprietary" in the thread title.

I wanted to post it here for two reasons:

1) I hope we can pursue LSUMatt's idea of doing a TD Mock-BCS poll, using some other user's computer polls as well as a TD Top 10 or Top 25.

2) Wanted to see if people thought it passed the "common sense" test, if such a thing exist on the Rant.

I don't think grouping FCS into one team is the way to do it

Is it optimal? No. However, to keep track of FCS teams, you have to then keep track of Div II schools and Div III schools and so on. Hell, even D III schools play NAIA, so then you have to deal with them as well. I chose to nip it in the but early. If you want to play an FCS school, you concede that they will be considered an 0-fer team in this computer.

However, if you have some kind of idea as to how to accurately track FCS schools without an enormous amount of work, I would love to hear it.
