Yahoo Sportacular iPad App Question & Game Day Question?

I downloaded this new App from Yahoo. It looks really cool with excellent Navigation with just about all real time stats. Has anyone used this during a game yet?
Also, what is the deal with getting data via your smart phone during games? Is it because the stadium is blocking it or so many people accessing the Internet thru their cell phone carrier?

AT&T is usually the only one that won't work. There's just too many people trying to access the same tower at the same time.
