Black drum and redfish are both from the same family
Sciaenidae. They're essentially cousins in the fish world. Their habitats are quite similar, as are there diets.
Properly prepared Black drum is every bit as delicious as Redfish and sometimes almost indistinguishable.
Same argument people seem to wanna have over Red snapper and Mangrove snapper...if I'm eating either one..I'm one happy SOB.
