All he has to do is come to his senses regarding who should play QB consistently

I just can't take your post seriously.
I guess there are two types of people; those who believe in luck and those who don't.
I can never believe in luck as the idea of the input (actions) not being proportional to the output (results) is something that I'd rather not believe.

Thoughts on Miles
His stubborness of wanting to prove to everyone JJ is a QB almost cost LSU the game.
Keep Lee in, we hang 40+ on UF and look like a REAL LSU football team, not another decent team coached by Miles that pulls out another last second controversial win.

I'm not really sure what happened by chance last night. Try to give an example?

Well, as the saying goes. "If you can't be good, be lucky."
Posted on 10/10/10 at 6:54 am to Odysseus32
WTF? It didn't happen by chance though. The play was practiced, called, and executed.
You make it sound like everything happens by chance. If thats the case then Saban isnt a good coach either, hes the luckiest one.

Great Post.
my thoughts are that overall, miles is a damn good and borderline great coach. all coaches, even the demigod saban have weakness and miles weakness's are certainly more visible, esp his public speaking talents (or lack thereof). i think his clock mgt problems are more of a gary crowton thing or the fact that him and crowton don't coordinate together well in tight situations. the main reasons i really like miles are...
1-he's a great mentor for the boys that sign with LSU and become men
2-our graduation rate is higher than ever before
3-our players stay out of trouble, esp compared to other top programs
4-he kicks bad apples off of the team, even if they are damn good players
5-he "does right" by his players and coaches
6-he wins a lot of ball games and a lot of the "big games"
lastly, i don't buy the luck angle. sure, on any one play, but luck evens out over the long hall; there is 50% bad luck out there. lady luck is half saint and half whore. i also admire coach miles trait of doing what he thinks is right even in the face of immense critisism. his handling of our qb's is a perfect example. while the fans are calling for his head, he's nurturing them the way he feels is right. JL was devastated after his freshman year. that experience would have ruined most young athletes. miles has brought him back very slowly where he is recovering (or recovered). the pressure cooker that is LSU football can be brutal.
lastly, you're up early. top of the morning to ya.

The fake field goal. There was a CHANCE that they would convert that.
Why the hell would we do a fake FG , when we could have run a play with our REAL offense ? I mean really , how lucky did we get ?? Also , who did we fool ? they were all over Jasper , we got lucky , and I am glad we did .

Never want to give miles credit.

If you jog a out a kicker whose long is 38 in that situation, you say to yourself, "this is a fake".

i trust the fake FG over any play he would have called had he gone for it.
the 2 point conversion personnel was a complete fail and total joke

he isn't stupid. he's a jackass. he stubbornly refuses to insert the best players. JJ, while he played better last nite, still can't lead a touchdown drive. if a receiver is not wide open, forget it.
he takes ridley out of the game most of the time when we get in the red zone, keeps JJ in the game, and the way we switch out running backs is bizarre.
and what the hell is that strong running package we use? reminds me of the Saints during the Bum Phillips era. he would put in 3 tight ends so all 22 players are bunched on the line of scrimmage. you've got a lot of blockers but there is no where for the runner to go. we never get anything off of that play. did anyone see what spurrier did yesteday on 4th and short? he put 4 wide receivers out so there wasn't a huge crowd at the line. Brilliant!
btw, i am not one calling to get rid of miles. he's our coach for the next couple of years, so there is no use getting on that bandwagon.
i recognize the players hurt themselves a lot last nite and it was not a poorly coached game, but it's his boneheaded strategy and game plan that is maddening. i repeat - he's a jackass.

Good post.
My thoughts:
Miles is a very good football coach.
Miles in not a good clock manager.
Miles knows more about his QBs than any of the fricking fans.... he's winning with what he has and not risking NOT having a QB at all... i.e. if he yanked JJ and JL failed -- then he's got two headcases and nobody that can play... right now he's got two guys that both know they have to make the most of THEIR chances because if they don't the other guy will take their place.
LSU is 6-0, Bama is 5-1, UF is 4-2, Texas has 2 losses, PSU has 2 losses, we have beaten 3 SECe teams - 2 on the road, our offense has struggled mightely but we've won, our defense is very good.
The above are FACT.
Line em up and let's get it on!!!!
