How would Charles Scott have done with this OL play?

I love Ridley, but Scott was very similar and a step faster, iirc.

This is not a knock on Ridley at all, but more of a hypothetical.

Better? Worse?

He would have retained his 2008 form, at least.

maybe after 20-30 yards, but Ridley is infinitely faster to the hole/line/etc... And he's just an overall better back than Scott imho.

Similar.

Ridley is playing HARD and making good reads.

Maybe. . .I think Scott may have been quicker there as well. . .Thing is, Ridley had holes to run through. Scott picked up yards in spite of the OL. Ridley does read somewhat better.

I would agree there.

Scott is a power back, and Ridley is not that bulky to be one. I'd like Scott better.

Better, but I definitely don't think that Scott was faster than Ridley.

And that's just considering rushing. Ridley is a better receiver.

I think I recall hearing that, which is why I said "iirc". . .

I may be wrong.

And not to knock scott, but Ridley definitely has shown the ability to run through people all season. What gets lost in the goal line fiasco last week is that Ridley was stood up at about the two and just pushed a 300 lb DT (I believe) into the endzone.

Same, i remember he would go down after the slightest contact. So his numbers may have improved but as soon as someone would hit him, he would still go down.

Scott didn't have the moves or the feet that ridley has. Ridleys also alot quicker into the hole. I think he would've done ok but he wasnt on the same level as ridley is.

Scott had better hands, Ridley is better after the catch.

Ridley made a sweet cut to the inside on a sweep to the left against TN. I don't think Scott had that quickness to change direction. Scott and Ridley both run well after contact. Scott may have had better break away speed, but Ridley gets to the second level quicker in my opinion.

I think Ridley has turned into a hell of a back, especially coming from Single A Trinity Episcopal. He must have terrorized those 180 pound D-linemen back in the day.
