How to stop the Madden Quick Slant /Tight End Flat play

I just became an expert at this. It was really frustrating at first because I couldn't get any defense to really cover it 100% (none can). But here are some good tips
Any form of cover 2 will do decent against this with a few minor adjusments
For the Tight End to flat route,
Move your safety up, this will cause a cluster and a little confusion on the other guys part.
Have your LBS spread out (most times the guy who runs this non stop is garbage and can only look to one side of the field to throw too)Getting your oustide LB to the spot he needs to be at is Key ( the slant is open but he sees a LB standing right there and doesn't throw)
Let your Cornerback work his magic, The corner back is going to back off the line (around 5 yards) This lets the tight end become open 1 second after the play is called. The corner covers the Slant for the first second of the play then switches to the Tight end flat route. The guy has only a split second decision on where he wants to throw is so the OLB and the Cornerback need to be semi close to each other.
Back to the Safety part, It is imperative that he is up near the line of the scrimmage (I like to use Show Blitz on my coverage audibles. This really does throw people off when I back off coverage right before the snap.)
If he starts to hot route his outside reciever deep, then show blitz with everyone and let your safety make a play
Hope I helped!
ETA: The guy doing this to me scored 24 points in the first half, The end score was 43-24

I only play NCAA but I assume the case would be the same. Press zone or some kind of contain with D ends that can maybe swat the ball.

Man up your CB and set the LB into a zone.

you can stop it. Nickel package the play is called volcano. Just flip the play over to the tight ends spot

I'll have to try that out thanks, 8-1 right now on madden I score about 45 points a game and give up around 15.

Have you ever played football? Cover 2 was invented for this.

Just sell out on a blitz and patrol the middle with a safety.
The flats will be covered in man, and if any of the WRs get a step on the corner, the blitz should force the QB to throw pretty quick,r ight about the middle of the field where your user safety should be waiting.
Or just drop into coverage, hot route a safety or LB into a buzz zone to cover one side of the field, and user the safety on the other side of the field.
If you have good user skills, NOTHING is unstoppable.

I'm getting a lot better at using the Coverage Audibles,
I held him too 100 yards in the second half and No points, While I scored 22 points

Hot routing individual players are essential to beating either cheeers or just guys that can pass well.

I read this thread title and thought
"cover two drop your LBs under the slant"

That works, but it's vulnerable if you don't get enough pressure.
Because the LBs won't follow the 2 slants across the field, so if they get time to throw, they can just wait until the WRs get outside the hash marks.

Not sure exactly what you mean by this.

ahh guess it was a old ncaa thing your could use RT or LT ( can't remember) and press X,Y,B,A LB or RB to have better coverage on that particular reciever

Ah, I think maybe you mean the "Key WR" feature?
Not sure, as I never use that feature. I'm talking about, for example, if you're in cover 2 man both safeties have the deep zone coverage(blue route).
Well, if you pick, for example, the SS(on the right of your screen), then hot route that guy to a buzz zone(the purple zone), they guy will cover the right side of the field. You can also do the flat zone which is the same thing, but he covers the short passes, flats. The buzz will help stop a corner route.

Played online game once.. LSU vs Florida.
Most the games when the guy needed a big play he'd just run a WR or TE to the flats. would throw and would be open. i'd either stop him for a few yards or he'd barely get the first down. I was just running a base Nickel Cover 3 D most the game. I'd either run different forms of Cover 3 or I'd man blitz. I was leading 24-21 he was driving down the field with a few mins left and talking smack over his mic. gets to a 3rd and 9 at around mid-field. This time I run a Cover 3 Press(had been waiting on using it when i needed it). he runs a hitch route. Corner jumps the route and it's a pick 6. dude cusses at me the rest of the game, but was a man and finished the game.

What team do you play with?
I prefer the Dolphins,Texans and the jets.
I stay away from the Saints because everyone plays with team and people usually backs out when you choose them
