the responses and explanations

i get it. most people have come to the conclusion that miles is mildly retarded. and some people stand behind the idea that he is a good coach who has just made some mistakes.
someone mentioned it earlier the first tenn game when miles tried to call a timeout after a turnover to stop the clock. there are certain things he does that are just bewildering.
but my biggest prb is his responses.
when he does these retarded things ala ole miss and sat he comes to the podium and "explains" what happen. and what should have happen
its as if someone sat him down and told him after the game this is what should have been done and then he comes to the podium and reiterates it.
we all know what should have been done. we want to know why it was not done and what you are going to do in the future to make sure it doesn’t happen again...
i guess my question is can those that support him please defend his football intelligence?

No matter how much talent you have you can't win a national title without good coaching, you can't win an SEC championship and you can't beat the likes of Miami, Ohio St, Notre Dame, in big bowl games. He knows better than we do the mistakes and issues.

1. You cannot argue with his fixing the defense after the 2008 season. He made a good hire and the defense has improved each year.
2. You can't argue with the special teams.
3. You can't argue with recruiting. The talent is there at every position except quarterback. Perriloux hurt us badly and his presence cost us potential recruits. When he was kicked out of the program, it left a vacuum that has yet to be filled. Plus, we've lost out on others or they left for baseball.
The problem this year (and last year to some extent) is the offense. The OL has improved from last year as has the run game. The passing game has regressed BADLY, but there is some sign of hope with Lee.
I think the problem is that you can't run the whole offense with either QB. Lee can't run and Jefferson can't pass (or run the option, but let's not got there). So, maybe switching them out will be the answer.
Clock managment is a severe problem, but one that CAN (possibly) be fixed. This is the crux.
The underlying fact is that you can't fire a coach that is 5-0 (especially when all five wins are against BCS schools and three are conference games) unless you have a sure thing hire available. I'm not sure one of those is available. Plus, you have to have the money to fire coaches and hire new ones.

Ok, sooooo why the frick is Crowton still our OC? From the sound of it, he and Crowton don't see eye to eye.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to watch a football coach get interviewed.

the only people that try to say he is a good coach just throw a bunch of stats at us, that, while they are impressive, are just a measley attempt by the mad hatter's to support the buffoon

This is the situation in a nutshell, despite the blunders, and the insanity (trying the same thing repeatedly hoping for a different outcome.)

I would expect Miles to handle it like he handled the defensive coordinator position after 2008 . . . after the season. Miles has always taken care of his coaches (which is good because it helps him hire and retain good coaches) so he won't fire Crowton during the season. Now, that doesn't mean that he won't take away playcalling from Crowton (which I pray to God happens).
