I've always liked Les Miles and wanted him to succeed. You can flame me all you want, but I really don't think he's the troglodyte everybody makes him out to be.

However...

It seems that, barring a dramatic turnaround this season, his reputation has been irreparably damaged with the vast majority of fans and his days are numbered.

To all the negatigers out there: Is there anything at this point that Les could do to redeem himself in your eyes?

he can step down at the end of the season. i predicted this game would be 10-6 and got laughed at for it. the problem with miles is that he teams play down to some of the worst in the league. that UT team we played yesterday is god awful. we've now entered the meat of our season, and things are now gonna get really interesting for leslie.

At this point, it'd take a miracle.....I don't see him making the necessary changes.....beginning with firing crowton....

I'm not a negatiger, but am considering becoming one...IMO, Miles should have dumped Crowton last year, and nothing that is happening now is really surprising. The fact that this is the third year in a row of an inept offense, and the fact that the QB situation is horrible, with no relief in sight, makes this a difficult situation for him to overcome, IMO. He has had a chance to manage the issues that are holding the offense back, and hasn't met the challenge.

Wasn't the scuttlebutt that the powers that be forced him to keep Crowton another year?

I want Miles to succeed because he is our coach and I will feel that way until he is not our coach.

I think he is a good man in terms of his character and that is part of the reason he and his staff does well in recruiting.

Defense and Special teams are rockin...

Lets just hope the mistakes on offense are corrected. He has acknowledged them so we will see if they can figure out as coaches how to respond to them.

Other than that, my only other comment is "it is what it is..."

I don't understand this. Doesn't Miles get any credit for the turnaround on D and the special teams play?

the same mistakes have been made the last two seasons and have never been corrected. i am sick of people saying this. it hasn't happened yet and is not going to happen.

IMO, that postgame press conference performance removed any chance that Miles can save himself by firing Crowton.

Crowton's not the guy acting like Charles Manson at a parole hearing.

If there is any way Miles can cease being himself, I guess so. But this is impossible so, no.
