Worst possible thing for Miles

After watching Miles' press conference and taking a few hours to decompress and break down the game, I can say that yesterday's game was the worst possible outcome for Les Miles.
1. He obviously put JJ in the game when we got inside the 5 and called a run for him thinking that if JJ scores it makes him the hero and dampens the calls for Lee to be the starter at QB. Listen to the press conference and his cryptic comments about the JJ run. Clearly he really wanted JJ to score there.
2. JJ gets stuffed on the run, then the coaching staff melts down and tries to insert a different package onto the field with no TOs and the clock running - resulting in the utter chaos that you saw at the end of the game. Lucky for us, we were so confused that we confused Tenn and they had 13 men on the field.
3. LSU wins anyway, despite the utter mismanagement of the clock by the staff and now everyone is left to conclude that LSU is winning in spite of Miles rather than because of him. Miles' post game comments thinly disguised the fact that he knew he had embarrassed the university and the team. How a man with his experience could understand so little about clock management is hard to comprehend. Most HS kids have a better grasp of it than Miles does.
4. Lee's play - sure it wasn't always pretty - but he was 16-23-185 and 1 INT. He made several clutch throws - the 47 yarder to Randle and the 4th and 14 to Tolliver that stick out. Now there is a legitimate QB controversy, which is the last thing we needed. Miles has limited brain power. We need him to focus what molecules are left on the Florida game plan, not on defending JJ in the media all week and answering a thousand clock management questions.
If there are two take aways from this game its that we have an utter idiot for a head coach and OC and we now have a QB controversy that our staff will not be able to handle.

I figured that out a long time ago.

The first thing they can do to quiet the madness is to start Lee at QB against Florida. Hard to argue with the disparity in numbers. Sure JJ had the one fantastic run but if you look at that play, there were no defenders 5 yards past the line of scrimmage and JJ didn't really have to break tackles to get there. Not detracting from the run but TN was in a really bad defensive position on that play.

OR given that both of our QBs will chunk it up for grabs, he had ruled out throwing it, which me and everyone in the stadium knew.
So he went with the QB that gives a better option to run it in.
Yes I am pretty sure he wanted JJ to score.
He also pulled JJ twice and put JL in on obvious throwing downs, so your conspiracy theory blows.
For the record, I dont want to see JJ...and Miles is looking more and more foolish by the game. But these wild arse theories are

Good analysis. Not sure how much better I feel, but well said.

1. Yes, he put JJ in hoping to get a touchdown on a quarterback keeper. I feel Miles did it to try and win the game, not to make JJ the hero. I give Miles a break for that one.
2. Craziness! We got REAL lucky.
3. I really do like Les Miles but this game was totally wacky. I don't know what to think.
4. I think JL gives us our best chance to win next week. He should play the vast majority of the snaps.
