T-Bob deserves a lot of credit if true what was going around.

Apparently T-Bob took it upon himself to snap the ball without the QB calling for it because he noticed the clock running out with NO chance of victory without a snap. If he snapped it at least someone might make a play that results in victory. As it turned out Jefferson chased the snapped ball down 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and fell on it. However, Tennessee gave us the other chance.
If all this talk of T-Bob last night is true...Great Job T. If it is all just bologna...please ignore this post.

Might explain why he missed it, I was thinking the same thing.

T-Bob is lucky he didn't get a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for spiking his helmet while the play was still live. Not sure how that would have been adjudicated - offsetting penalties? Would there have still been another play?

He knew time was running out and snapped it with two seconds left. If he doesn't snap it, no penalty on the Vols...

I hope we can get a true read on what really happened and who called what so we can avoid another clock management error.
Apparently we learned nothing from the Ole Miss disaster.

I thought TBob was at right guard on the last series...didn't realize he was at center

How did he spike his helmet while the play was still live? I didn't see that. The ball would have been dead when Jefferson landed on it right? Did he snap the ball and immediately spike his helmet? Please explain.
On the other hand. I would have spiked my helmet too if I had had one.

so he took the ball away from PJ and snapped it?

bottomline if tbob doesnt snap the ball we lose the game no matter how many people UT had on the field!
tbob prolly looked up seen the clock and seen that UT had more players on the field than they usually do, (checking his blocking assignment> then threw his helmet b/c he thought the refs didnt make the call. it couldhave happened?

Dont know if it was a good thing or not? Had he not snapped the ball we maybe looking for a coach that can run this team. Now its wait and see. Cant blame the kid for using his head, to bad I cant say the same for his coach.

T-bob threw his helmet b/c he was mad (rightly so). having said that he needs to control himself better b/c he could have cost us. As far as the snap, kudos to him for knowing what was going on around him. JJ obviously didnt or he would have caught the snap.

PJ wasn't in the game and JJ called for the ball (pre snap clap), then went into sleep mode.
I'm going to pause this thread while some of you go to your dvr's and watch it over again.

I heard that from several sources too. Hebert saved that game for us. Two seconds left on the clock so he knew he's better snap it and hope something happened. Of course, just like the goofy "spike-the-ball-with-one-second-left-on-the-clock-play" that cost the Tigers the game against Ole Miss last year, someone (and we're not naming names here) FELL on the #*@$-ing ball with NO TIME LEFT as if THAT was going to save the game. Yeah, no time left on the clock and we've fumbled the ball so we had better fall on it to keep Tennessee from recovering the fumble and taking possession (with NO TIME LEFT).
Thank God that T-Bob can read a clock and make a decision one way or the other. And fortunately Tennessee's coaching staff was worse at counting than a certain unnamed quarterback.
In my opinion, T-Bob should have been named MVP of this game.
