You got it ValleyCat. What I wouldn't give to be in Tiger Stadium this Saturday. Postgraduate requirements, then internships and fellowships and, finally, jobs, have kept us from our home state and our beloved LSU (except for sporadic trips back home over the last two decades ... during which trips our relatives perpetually keeping our seats in Tigah stadium warm get the boot for at least a game).

No, we old "foogies" never settled for "mediocrity" as the instant gratification gang chirps these days ... mediocrity didn't get you your degrees, nor our multiple degrees either. LSU didn't always win 'em all during our years there, but they were always our LSU Tigahs and without being blind to our team's shortcomings, we still loved our Tigahs and we loved 'em all the more for choosing to don the P&G in the first place.

But I digress... back to anxiously awaiting our our next trip home to both our beloved south Louisiana and Tigah stadium on Saturday night! Retirement to our home state can't possibly come soon enough!! :sigh:

I'm loving all this feedback from fellow alumni.

Fans may be fanatical in their passion for LSU, but only an alumnus knows the love that we learned to know at LSU. To love LSU just as much as you love a spouse, a parent or a child. To me, LSU is a family member. I loved LSU as a boy growing up in Red Stick, but not nearly as much as I loved it after walking through the Quad under those stately oaks as I pursued my degree and on Saturday nights to and from the student section in Tiger Stadium. Hearing our band play the alma mater always gives me a chill and makes my eyes water.

Guys, there is some truth in what you say...
but the Midwest..always will find an excuse to be critical of the SEC and/or any one of its teams..

the West coast will do the same.

if it is not that..it will be something else.

most announcers will also try to criticize and/or dismiss us and the SEC...SPORT POLITICS

Awesome post but they won't stop. They really believe they are behaving this way for the good of the program. I just don't see how you can behave this way and think it will in the long run help our great program.

please quit blaming the fan base.

Coach Miles could take care of all of this by either
1. meaningful communication with the fanbase. if he could articulate clearly and honestly a logical presentation of why he is going to stick with JJ no matter what, OR

2. put Lee in the damn football game for a half.

i had decided after week 3 i was going to enjoy LSU football. i knew what we had, and there are some very bright spots. The reality was that we were stuck with JJ. this is the deck we were dealt, i was going to live with it.

man, the WVU game really sucked. there is a difference between playing a close game with a well-coached and talented opponent and you feel that your coaches are doing their best to give your team the best chance to win, as opposed to you feel some of your coaches are trying to keep the other team in the game. it's hard to watch without wondering if whoever is really in charge of the offense is trying to put the team in position to score. i know that sounds bizarre. i don't think i believe that they aren't trying. what i'm saying is that watching the play-calling and failure to substitute qb's makes me feel that way.

And it is not fun to watch. But i'm trying, because i love LSU football.
