just joined the thread, some really good stuff

at 275 right now, down from 282 in a few weeks with little exercise. As of now just staying under 2000 cals a day....basically, it's getting old but I gotta stick with it!! But are there any suggestions on solid meals that don't have just grilled chicken? And would also love to know what most of you do for breakfast...hope i can keep it going, i love food and the worst kind....but great to see all the folks that are enduring. Again, any advice would be appreciated

Welcome! What type of diet are you doing? At your weight eating around 2,000 calories should help you to lose weight slowly. If you're looking to lose faster of course you can try cutting some more. I know personally I do best when I stay around 1500 calories a day. It does take time to adjust to that though.

Most of the people in this thread do some form of low carb diet. No matter what you do, it's usually a good idea to begin with cutting down on most sources of carbohydrates if you want to lose weight. Things like grains, rice, and processed foods.

As for breakfast, I personally skip it most days. When I do eat breakfast I keep it simple and usually eat eggs, sometimes with bacon, and maybe a piece of fruit. As for other meals. I know grilled chicken can get really old. How much fish do you eat? That's something I like to eat once or twice a week at least. Fish like salmon have a lot of good fat in them, plus for lunches I like to eat sardines every once in a while. Pan seared fish is always great.

What's most important is to find good foods that you like. If you feel like you're miserable while trying to lose weight it won't work. I've learned that the hard way. Feel free to post often in this thread, it's good to see what others are doing and to know that it's natural to have ups and downs. There are several people in here who have been posting for years and they've been succesful. Which proves that consistency is key.

thanks for the tips. I'm not on any particular diet, just watching calories. You said the dreaded words "cutting carbs" that's really hard for me,especially grains...I'm a sandwich nut. But I will definitely start incorporating fish into the diet. Thanks again
