I walk everyday around the neighborhood at a 4 mph pace for at least an hour. If not I walk for an hour same pace on the treadmill with the incline at 9 degrees. I watch Food Network while Im doing this.
When you feel up to it... try this: Couch To 5K running plan. I walked a lot as well, and hit a plateau as far as the weight loss goes, then started this plan. I'm finishing up week 7 this evening, and the pounds have started to come off again. I had never been much of a runner, but now I kinda look forward to it. Especially with the nice weather lately. And everytime I got to a day and just didn't think I could do it, I've been able to. Some are worse than others, but always managed to finish.

Well I used to run and that always kept my body in check. But I've had one knee scoped, have arthritis (mild) in both knees and layed my ankle over completely several years ago while running. I miss it badly but it just pounds my knees too much. I have tried many times the last few years but if I jog (and I can go a mile or so-wind is not a problem-knee pain is) I can hardly walk for a few days after that. I ride my bike a bit and I swim a couple times a week. I am going to start riding more. My wife bikes, rides, tennis, golf, runs and recently started yogalates. I'm going to try that with her. And I also play a little tennis and want to pick that up more as well.
When my wife and I met we were both runners and ran in probably twenty 10ks together. I do miss it. I ran about an eight minute mile which was good for me.
