Has anyone seen Denard Robinson at Michigan, or the freshman at Florida that just scored 5 touchdowns on Kentucky running the ball from their version of the Wildcat? I didn't see the spring game or any preseason practices, but why not put Shepard in the Wild Tiger and give him a half dozen or so favorite plays and let HIM run the offense. Instead of Lee, give Shepard a few series against UT.

I was contemplating this the other day. One of Miles' primary arguments for playing Jefferson is the fact that JJ adds another dimension to the run game.

Look at some of the play we run out of the shotgun, and then look at the offense Shepard was running back in high school.

Supplanting Jefferson with Shepard would indubitably improve the rushing attack, and could only improve the passing game. And you don't have to alter the offensive play calling at all.

Cause that's not what Bo Schembechler's non-NC-winning arse would have done.

Most of us have been contemplating this the last two seasons. We have the best dual threat qb to come out of HS in years and we want to essentially make him Trindon Holiday 2.0.

If I were him my arse would be at another school in January. As long as Miles/Crowton are at the controls, he will be a wasted talent at LSU.

He's not a QB, won't ever be a QB. He will however be a good WR and people are just going to have to get over him getting 5-10 touches per game. I do think he should see some specialty plays at wildcat QB though.

Putting the ball in the hands of our best player...

Maybe thats what YOU think should happen but thats NOT the way we do things around here.

Crowton is out after this year most likely. Especially if Miles is really stepping into the play calling.

Shepard isn't goin nowhere he is 110% LSU ... and I would definantly love to see him in the wildcat atleast once every other possesion if no more ...and it would be nice to let him chunk one out of bounds just once so then other teams have it in the back of their head that he may throw even though there were rumors that he couldn't pass worth nothing

to put the best dual threat qb and highest ypc lsu rusher at qb is just a rediculous thought.. Supposedly he thought he wouldn't make a good NFL qb so he wanted to change, but also he knew he wouldn't get any game time behind the seniority..

Thanks, Coach Miles.

Funny how when they were recruiting him they thought he could throw a college football but now that he's on campus all of the sudden it's JUST NOT POSSIBLE!

Either they are liars or they're just too thick and stubborn to give him a chance there.
Shep chose to switch positions b/c he saw the writing on the wall, which said: "I'm playing for a 1970's relic from Michigan who will never give me a shot at being the next Pat White".

He was overwhelmed with learning the play book and new he had a better chance and more playing time as a WR.

Still no excuse for him not getting twice as many touches as he has this year. Do it a few times in the wildcat if you have to.

RS isn't as strong a runner as Robinson is. Shepard is the kind of back you want in space, out in the open were he can use speed and/ or a cut.

Robinson is much more physical than RS.

But I would love to see RS running our option instead of JJ.
