Untapped Resources...

I think everyone will agree that the Defense is lights out, and playing at a National Championship level. I also think everyone will agree that, the offense has got to get more production out of the players we have, and SOON, in order for LSU to make a run this season…
If you disagree with either of the above statements, this isn’t your thread, move on to the next please!

Here is my take on LSU's situation, and in no way do I intend to bash or direct this at any LSU Player:

1) LSU should be a run first to open up the pass "type offense.” Ridley is good and will be a work horse this season, but so is Ford and he could add another work horse to the rotation, and I’m sorry I just don’t see how that could be a bad thing. Right now he is just watching the games from the pine with his helmet off (what did this guy do to deserve a true freshman, who is NOT performing AT ALL, to start in front of him???) Insert Ford into the line up and the offense is automatically better. Mike Ford needs more carries, and so does Ridley!!!
I’ve been saying this for 2 years, and I’ll say it again - RUN THE BALL COACH!!!

2) If LSU must run the option and wants to be effective at it than Sheppard needs to take the snap! We see what Robinson is doing for Michigan,,, RS could do this for LSU - he did it in high school... and based on what I’ve seen this season when he has space, he could do it well in the SEC and add another spark to the offense, which LSU desperatly needs!
I'm not saying base the entire offensive scheme on this, but when we play BAMA and Crowton calls the play where RS is in the Slot and goes in motion and JJ or JL hands it off to him,,, he will get lit up against better defenses!!! Teams study film and from the looks of it the other night WV had this play covered all night.
The OC needs to get WAY more creative and innovative when calling and setting up plays. The name of the game is “build an offensive game plan around the players you do have and their strengths.”

3) I have been taking up for JJ for 2 years now, but IMO it's time to see what Lee has got??? The kid has been in the system for 3 years now, and hopefully (if coaches have done their job) JL has improved. That being said, it could not hurt or make our offense any worse. If Lee is put in the game and throws a pick six, then he comes out and JJ goes back in...
The key is, either way, to be a RUN FIRST OFFENSE and then the passing lanes will open up and the rush will be slowed down - thus making it easier on our struggling QB situation.
In my opinion, when you don’t have a clear cut starting Stud QB like LSU doesn't have: both QBs should have been playing all along… Just my opinion!?
It's not my 1st choice, but the 2 QB system can work in some cases!?

I hate that the Defense is so stout and the offense appears to be in rebuilding mode (I feel like I am seeing the same 5 plays being run over and over and over again, and most of the time I can predict the order of which they are run,,, AND this has got ZERO to do with JJ or JL…
There is too much talent on this team to sputter on offense like they do!

So what "untapped resources" do you feel the coaches can use to improve this team's offensive production?
