So, accept mediocrity? No thank you.

We were only in the top 10 twice with Saban, but apparently that spoiled us and now being in the top 10 is pathetic.

The OP, ironically, described the Saban days.

Unrealistic expectations.

How long did it take for LSU to win another NC after Billy Cannon?

How many did Bowden win during his run of 10 + years of Top 5 finishes?

The best programs in the nation do 8-9 win seasons and win the NC or conference title occasionally. To think we will win it every year, esp in college football is insane and unrealistic.

It is very unrealistic.

This program didn't have the facilties in the 90's it has now. Almost any coach can recruit here. We will not be a bottom of the SEC team again.

Wrong toilet breath!

The elite programs (and Les is paid elite money) consistently win 10-11 and are perennial Top 10.

Please list the elite programs, by your definition, that have won 10-11 games in each of the past 10 years.

I really do not understand how people can look around college football and think that we are going to lose 4 games this year. Have you seen our opponents?

I agree. Four losses would be a surprise. Five is more likely.

I think people need to just look around and realize that the parity in college football increases every year.

I watched UCLA get fricking embarrassed by Stanford at home, then go on the road and hand Texas its worst loss at home under Brown. That is parity. That is how college football will go from here on out. Even mighty fricking USC was 9-4 last year and looks poised to lose quite a few this year as well. Teams go through slumps and then cycle back to the top. To think LSU is immune to that is asinine. NC, then 8-5, then 9-4, then 4-0. We are trending up. Most on this board think that 2011 could be really special. 9-10 wins should be enough if you sprinkle a NC in there, with a few Divisional/Conference Championships. Miles has done that so far.

Yes our passing game sucks, but until we lose, stop acting like the world is over because it certainly id not going to get anything fricking accomplished.

HELL NO. I AM NOT GOING TO BE CONTENT WITH THAT TYPE OF MEDIOCRITY WITH THE TALENT THAT WE HAVE AND ARE ABLE TO RECRUIT. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR US NOT TO BE A LEGIT TOP 10 PROGRAM YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT

"Be Happy with 8 - 9 win seasons and a Bowl game.
An occasional double digit win season every couple of years in the mix."

You are a loser. I bet you are happy with your fat wife, shite house and pathetic life that you rationalize as "its ok". You can go sit in the corner and jack off with that loser attitude. I want a winner. I want the best.

Excuse me? "Trending up?" We are on par to lose a minumum of four games this year, ALA, ARK, AUB, and FL. The famed Steel Curtain defense couldn't beat good teams with our offense.

And guess what? Since we will win nine games and go to a decent bowl, the same cast of characters will be back next year doing the same thing.

Can you name a program that is doing that? Just one would be fine. Not USCw, they were 9-4 last year. Not Florida, they were 9-4 with a fricking Heisman winner.

Not Alabama, because the season before they went to the SECCG, they lost to ULM.

Who?

Texas? Maybe. They have been the most consistent, but they do not meet many of your expectations. UCLA, LOL.

Oklahoma? Nah.

Florida State? Miami? See how this works?

Did we win more games last year and lose less? Yes.

Have we lost any games this year? Did we play Alabama, Ark, Aub, or UF last night? No.

I am not advocating for Miles because I do not think he is the best coach for this program. However, every fricking program has ups and downs, and if 8-5/9-4 is as low as it gets, then that is pretty nice.

Expectations can and should be high, but to have a dooms day attitude when they are not met is fricking stupid. Are we in the hunt for the West, the SEC Championship, and the NC right now? Yes. Did you expect to be anything more than 4-0 after 4 games? I certainly fricking hope not.

This is precisely what we're looking at this year, 9 wins and a decent bowl. I guess some are okay with that but I'm not. By the way, that "successful" record will get us another year of Crowton, Miles, Jefferson, etc. and another 8 or 9 win year and another decent bowl. Welcome to LSU football.

Exactly. Miles is playing to keep his job and the status quo. He isnt trying to develop the team and give them a chance to compete in every game. Bama, UF, Ark game have been conceded.
